Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Her real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang and played piano. She attended Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan; it was later remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention during the four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
