Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She is currently a fighter within the UFC Flyweight division. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ and co- UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sport career with a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko took the title and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimity. Antonina was able to follow it up, and won a silver medal in 2007 a bronze medal in 2008 a gold medal in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003 and won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimity. She was a part of the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her superior striking abilities at the end of the fight with knees placed on her body. Antonina was offered a UFC offer after her victory. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi by an unanimous decision. However, she then was unable to win her next bout due to a split verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was 2-2 over her next three bouts, winning against Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee.
