Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anybody can learn. Chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, and the surrounding landscape. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for the management of restaurants after she graduated with the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute during my time of The Culinary Institute of America she states. I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for one year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. In Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists children with obstacles. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and career. Anne often has mentioned during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to be able communicate with people what is most important for her.
